Free slaves (1712)
What happens if a slave gets freedom?
-slaves need to leave South Carolina within six months
-If failed he or she would be re-enslaved and sold at public auction
The law was very unfair for the slaves because it was hard to get freedom, and if he/she did they will be caught again. So for the slaves it was no running away. Some of the slaves try to buy their freedom by selling their talent, it was a very hard thing to earn money. Slaves were freed by their owners sometimes, it never really happened but if they failed to escape they will be sold to slavery again.
